Biography

Delphin Kaze founded the first of the KAGE group of companies in 2017, turning agricultural biowaste into clean energy charcoal briquettes. As the business and his global profile grew, so his advice was sought out by more and more governments and companies on how to respond to the climate crisis, how to develop a circular economy, and how to nurture green economy entrepreneurs.

In 2021, Delphin was recognised by the President of Burundi for his contribution to green entrepreneurship and innovation. He is an ambassador for the African Youth Climate Hub and works with UNDP on the empowerment of women, youth and disadvantaged communities. He is also a regular speaker at global environmental and entrepreneurship events and was the first businessman under 30 to be elected to the East African Business Council
